Description

The 15th Battalion was raised as part of the all-volunteer Australian Imperial Force (AIF) in September 1914. Volunteers from Queensland accounted for about three-quarters of the unit, and the rest came from Tasmania. This battalion landed at Gallipoli on the afternoon of 25 April as a follow-up wave, and was later sent to France.
