World War II

The 2/4th Light Anti-Aircraft (LAA) Regiment was raised in Palestine in January 1942 – one of 11 to be raised during WWII. At the time, it became the fourth such unit of the 1st Australian Anti-Aircraft Brigade and was attached to the 9th Division. &nbsp;From 1942 to 1945 the unit served in Palestine, Lebanon, Syria, Egypt and New Guinea (Lae, Finschhafen, Nadzab and Dumpu).
