Memorial information

Description

The 42nd Battalion, Australian Imperial Force (AIF), was raised at Enoggera in Queensland in December 1915, and formed part of the 11th Brigade and 3rd Division. It shared its numeric title with the famous Scottish ‘Black Watch’ regiment, and became known as the ‘Australian Black Watch’.
