Description

The 9th Battalion Royal Australian Regiment (9 RAR) was raised in November 1967 in Adelaide and deployed to the Vietnam War in November 1968.  They were based at Nui Dat in Phuoc Tuy province where they took part in several key military campaigns, including Operation Goodwood. The 9 RAR remained in South Vietnam until 28 November 1969 when it was relieved by 8 RAR and returned to Australia.
