Memorial information

Description

This memorial is dedicated to the memory of the more than 560 Riflemen of the Queensland Rifle Association who gave their lives in the Great War of 1914-1918 for our freedom, and to the many men and women of Australia, from all shooting disciplines, who have served in their Nation’s defence.

The Armistice Centenary War Memorial (ACWM) was completed in time to coincide with Remembrance Day 2018, the 100th anniversary of the original Armistice that ended the Great War of 19-14-18.  The ACWM was officially opened by Mr Ross Vasta MP and the Memorial Gates and War Memorial structures were dedicated, blessed and consecrated by Chaplain LTCOL (retd) Graeme Ramsden, on the 11th November 2018.
