Description
This memorial comprises three Honour Rolls on the edge of a paved area. The original memorial is a vertical stone slab Roll of Honour listing those that served in WWI. It is set upon a simple double pedestal. It is between two recently added (2006) sandstone cairns with smooth finish and curved tops. They areset onsandstone bases with plaques of blackmarble and gold inscriptions. The left handcairn isthe Roll of Honour of those that served during WWII. The right handcairnlists the Roll of Honour of those that served in Korea and Vietnam.
On the original monument the 81 names inscribed are in honour of those who served in the Great War 1914–1918. The memorial possesses intricate carving of swords at the top. There is evidence of numerous sets of groupings of related names.
The cairn on the left displaying the WWII Roll of Honour lists 107 individuals from the District, including 11 who died while on active service.
The cairn on the right lists one individual who served in Korea and four who served in Vietnam.
