Memorial information

Description

Since WWI, the Australian Red Cross Society has provided provisions for the “comfort” of soldiers serving overseas.  From 1914–1918 volunteers raised enormous sums of money for soldier welfare and sent thousands of care packages to individuals serving overseas. During WWII, Australian Red Cross services expanded to focus on POWs and providing medical services for the ADF. This organisation’s services have also been invaluable in post WWII conflicts including Korea, Malaysia and Vietnam.
