Memorial information

Description

An significant example of Melrose & Fenwick, Townsville 1925, monumental masons of Townsville this monument is built from various material types. A solid plinth base painted white with a solid middle section and a granite type spire on top. Set on a concrete platform with white concrete posts. Red pipes connecting the posts to make a barrier around the sides and back of the memorial. A Memorial Arch is also located at Anzac Park.

Inscription

Marble plaques bear different headings:

Their name liveth for evermore;
They responded to their country's call;
They gave their lives for us;
Faithful unto death, with names of 53 soldiers recorded.
