Description

Two iron double gates diplaying'WORLD WAR II 1939 - 1945' across the centre. The gates are suspended between two large concrete posts with marble 'In Memoriam' name plaques attached. Left and right of the large posts are pedestrian gates which are then attached to smaller concrete posts with bronze plaques inserted, listing the District Roll fo Honour for the Second World War. The whole memorial setting presents an impressive entry to the original Shire Council chambers.

Gold Plaques read; BARCALDINE ROLL OF HONOUR WORLD WAR II

Iron Plaque on the gate reads; THESE MEMORIAL GATES WERE UNVEILED BY HIS EXCELLENCY SIR HENRY ABEL SMITH K.C.V.D.S.C. GOVERNOR OF QUEENSLAND ON THE SECOND OF MAY 1959.
