Erected on the 14 February 2000, the memorial consists of a concrete plinth, supporting a marble tablet with inscription.

BUNDABERG SUB BRANCH NATIONAL SERVICEMEN'S ASSOC. OF AUST. (Q) INC. THIS PLAQUE RECOGNISES THE SERVICE BY 314,000 YOUNG MEN WHO UNDERWENT NATIONAL SERVICE TRAINING FOR AUSTRALIA'S DEFENCE BETWEEN 1951-72. "THEY ALSO SERVE WHO ONLY STAND & WAIT"
