Memorial information
Description
White painted cairn set atop rocks from the original former RSL Kitchener memorial at Wynnum, which form the base. Unveiled by Hon G.F.R. Nicklin on 11 March 1967, as a tribute to individuals of Stradbroke Island, including the many Indigenous locals who enlisted in all conflicts. The Aboriginal flag is flown alongside the Australian flag at remembrance services. The 5 bronze plaques attached to the marker commemorate the aspects of the military services.

Erected in Memory of those who served from Stradbroke Island in World Wars 1 and 2 and other campaigns. Unveiled by Hon. GFR Nicklin, MM, LLD, MLA, Premier of Queensland 11 March 1967, Lest we forget./
Side One: In Remembrance of Australians who served their country in the Royal Australian Army Nursing Corps in all conflicts and wars/
