Memorial information

Description

The design comprises a curved black granite wall, 10 metres long and 1.2 metres high acknowledging Australian wartime and peacetime military contributions. The insignia and commemorative information is etched into the stone. The insignia displayed respresent the Navy, Army and Airforce, along with the Merchant Navy, Nurses, and the Returned and Services League of Australia. Additionally, along the wall in chronological order are the conflicts that match the contributions. Beginning with the Maori Wars of the 1860s and continuing through to the First World War, Second World War and post-1945 conflicts, they conclude with the designation of the locations in which Australian Peacekeepers have served. A dove of peace exists at the far end of the memorial.

The site also features a flagpole and lecturn.
