Memorial information

Description

The original digger memorial was an Australian soldier in dress uniform standing at ease and was unveiled by W J Vowles, Leader of the Opposition on 13 November 1920. Mason was R C Ziegler, Toowoomba. It was damaged in a traffic accident and this exact replica from original plans, now in a park for safety. A flagpole stands to the left of the memorial.

Inscription

Inscription reads:

Erected by the people of Kaimkillenbun and District in memory of the brave boys who fought and fell in the Worlds War 1914-18. Listed under Killed are 17 names for 1914–1918 and 8 names for 1939–1945. Numbers shown for Enlisted 1914–1918 are 66, including 1 nurse, and for Enlistments from this District 1939–1945 there are 70 names, and for Vietnam 1962–1972 there are 6 names.
