Memorial information

Description

Memorial gates erected after the First World War, listing those who enlisted and those who fell. A second list of enlistments is on the rear of the main posts. A smaller plaque commemorates five names from the South African War 1901 1902 but does not specify if enlistees or war dead. The plaques were vandalized in 1972 and restored by the Chermside and Districts Historical Society Inc in August 2003. The research was done by Patrick, son of Anzac Pte Walter Henry O Shea MM
