Memorial information

Description

A complex, but unique memorial, it is possesses a stone base, surmounted by a representation of the Royal Australian Navy badge on top. The badge is formed by chain shaped as the oval badge, a gold metal crown atop and a gold anchor in the centre with chain draped around it. The memorial sits on a square platform with a brass dedication plaque inserted. Another brass plaque is inserted to the stone at the top right hand side. Another representation of the Royal Australian Navy badge is inserted into the stone face. An aluminium flagpole is positioned close to the memorial. The whole memorial is surrounded by gardens and represents acknowledgement of the service provided by all who served in the Navy.

Inscription

Small round plaque reads: THIS MEMORIAL IS DEDICATED TO ALL THOSE MEN AND WOMEN WHO HAVE SERVED THEIR COUNTRY IN THE ROYAL AUSTRALIAN NAVY SINCE IT WAS FOUNDED IN 1911.

Small square plaque: THIS MEMORIAL WAS UNVEILED ON 11 DECEMBER 1994 BY COMMANDER D.A. CATON ADC RAN AND DEDICATED BY SENIOR CHAPLAIN G. ADSETT RANEM.
