Memorial information
Description
The new Stone Memorial and flagpole was unveiled on the 16th August 2009. It replaced the 1993 dedicated memorial which stood in the same position.
The memorial consists of a large stone structure, set atop a single plinth, and displaying several commemorative elements. There is a wreath carved into the top front of the memorial and the lettering 'LEST WE FORGET' is inscribed below. There are two plaques attached to the memorial: one being the commemoration, and the other a dedication plaque to the opening of the new site.
There is a commemorative flagpole inserted to the rear of the memorial and the whole structure is surrounded by garden beds.
The addition of the original renovated Bofors cannon to the side of the memorial stone.
