Description

National Service was compulsory in Australia between 1951 and 1972 and required young men to undertake training with the Navy, Army and Air Force as part of the nation’s defence preparedness strategy.  During the Vietnam war over 15,300 national servicemen, known as "Nashos", served with 200 killed and 1,279 wounded.
