Memorial information
Description
The original white cairn with a plaque inserted on front, was upgraded to the memorial format that is present in 2009. The Memorial Garden is maintained by the National Serviceman's RSL Sub-Branch, and contains a number of design elements. The memorial is built around a central dias and flagpoles, supporting a Pack Howitzer artillery piece. The Navy and Air Force are represented by a propellar and anchor, inserted on either side of the main dias. In addition, there are two brick walls, that support Roll of Honour plaques to the 212 National Servicemen who died on active service in South Vietnam and Borneo. The opposite wall displays ex-service personnel and ex-RSL personnel, who have died since the conclusion of National Service in the early 1970s. The whole memorial is surrounded by gardens.
