Memorial information

Description

World War I German 105mm Krupp Field Gun, manufactured in Germany in 1906 and captured by the 41st Australian Infantry Battalion, A.I.F., during the last great Australian Offensive of the war in 1918.

The gun was restored in 2002 and the site, within the Nundah Memorial Park, was upgraded to support the new refurbished piece. The wheels were replaced and original camoflague paintwork restored to prevent graffiti. A plaque explaining the existence of the gun rests on the low memorial wall behind.
