Description

A small stone memorial located where a coconut palm once stood. The site, a paddock during World War II, was hit by a bomb during the third Japanese bombing raid on Townsville, which left a crater and destroyed the palm tree (GPS 19°17'12.5"S, 146°48'45.6"E).

It was later moved to Abbot Street near the Rooney's Bridge (GPS 19°17'13.6"S, 146°48'51.7"E).
