Memorial information

Description

This memorial is built of bricks in three combined winged sections, with an Australian Commonwealth Military Forces badge on the centre section.

The memorial is on a stone base surrounded by two layers of bricks forming a protective area around it. There is a light to the right of the memorial.

Three flagpoles are located behind the war memorial, which is in the front grounds of the active Cultural Centre.

Inscription

Below is a carved scroll in marble with Proserpine Shire Council. 1914 - 1919 is inscripted with carved crossed rifles and a Laurel wreath.

The top plaque reads: To the memory of those brave volunteers from Proserpine who made the supreme sacrifice during the Great War 1914-1919.

Under the unusual headings of Name, Unit, Killed in Action, 17 names and details of unit and date of death are listed.
