Description
The Royal Australian Regiment, formed in 1948, is the parent administrative regiment for the regular infantry battalion of the Australian Army and the senior infantry battalion of the Royal Australian Infantry Corps. Throughout its existence, units from this regiment have been deployed on operations in Japan, Korea, Malaya, Borneo, Vietnam, Somalia, Rwanda, Cambodia, East Timor, the Solomon Islands, Iraq and Afghanistan.
