Description

The life-sized digger standing with head bowed and arms reversed is on top of a many stepped base, surrounded by a pipe and chain fence. It is situated in a small, treed park dividing the highways from the main shopping centre.
Names listed: 24 Died, 90 Returned.

Inscription

The location of the plaques is unusual with the marble dedication plaque on the back: Sarina Soldiers' Monument. Erected by public subscription in commemoration of those residents of Sarina Shire who enlisted in the World War of 1914-1919. Below this is a marble plaque reading Korea, Malaya, Borneo, 1948-1966. The front plaque reads: List of killed with 24 names. Under this is Lest we Forget.
One side plaque lists 48 names, with World War II 1939–1945 under it. The other side has an extra 42 World War II names, making a total of 90 WWII names. There is no indication whether these are killed or returned. Under this is Vietnam 1962–1972.
