Memorial information
Description
This is the second of four similar Honour Boards on a wall in the Merrington Memorial Peace Chapel within the church. The Board is constructed of maple and silky oak and the impressive facade lists the names of 52 individuals from the congregation who fought and in some cases died during the Great War 1914-1919. The Board exhibits gold, blue and black painted text, with a banner arrangement at the top, followed by the names listed in two equal columns. Some names are listed by rank, but the list is not in rank order. The fate of those who died or were wounded is designated to the left of the columns and includes 8 killed in action, 2 who died of wounds and 7 wounded in action. The list also included members who served in other Commonwealth Forces during the war.
