Memorial information
Description
The fourth of four similar Honour Boards can be seen on a wall in the Merrington Memorial Peace Chapel within the church. The Board is constructed of maple and silky oak and the impressive facade lists the names of 51 men and women from the congregation who fought and in some cases died during the Great War 1914-1919. The Board exhibits gold, blue and black painted text, with the title as a banner arrangement followed by one name in large print across the top and the other names listed in two equal columns. Ranks are shown for some personnel but the names are not in rank order. The fate of those who died or were wounded is designated to the left of the columns and includes 8 killed in action and 15 wounded in action. The list also included members who served in other Commonwealth Forces during the war.
