My grandmother, Elizabeth Horton nee Whitney, is the lady in the third row from the front immediately below the hat - three in from the left. The story is that the lady right at the back without the cap arrived late and only had time to take off the hat so she hung it up on the nearest available place! I have a photo from a publication of the same group of ladies entertaining returned diggers .
