Host an unforgettable event at Queensland’s pre-eminent war memorial.

Anzac Square Memorial Galleries is one of Brisbane's most unique spaces.  

Located in the centre of Brisbane, the Anzac Square parklands features the Shrine of Remembrance and Eternal Flame burning at its heart. Beneath the parklands are three memorial galleries that commemorate and showcase Queensland stories from World War I, World War II, and post-1945. 

Our unique function spaces make for events with a difference.

Spaces for hire

Post World War II Gallery
  • 120 square metres

  • Capacity 80 cocktail or 60 seated

  • Includes a presentation size screen, lectern and microphone

Functions

The space can hold functions such as heritage or military-related events, film screenings, presentations, and book launches. Confirmation of your event is subject to Queensland Veterans’ Council approval and gallery availability.

Catering is the responsibility of the function organiser, however, some of our preferred caterers include:  

Please note that Anzac Square Memorial Galleries has only a very small kitchenette, with no heating facilities.

Event scheduling 

All events must be booked one month in advance. Our function spaces are available to hire between 9am–9pm Sunday to Friday, excluding public holidays, Anzac Day and Remembrance Day.   

For events scheduled during public opening hours, the Post World War Gallery will be closed to accommodate your function. Events scheduled outside of opening hours may incur additional fees for staffing and cleaning services.

Post-booking checklist 

Once your booking is confirmed, please email anzacsquare@slq.qld.gov.au one week prior to your event with the following information:  

  • Name of best onsite contact and their mobile number for your event  

  • Comprehensive runsheet for your event, with detailed timings   

  • Confirmed number of attendees  

  • Name of your caterer (if applicable).  

Please supply a copy of your presentation on USB or email, a minimum of three working days prior to the event.  

Anzac Square staff will set up chairs, the screen and laptop ready for your presentation.
