Pop into Anzac Square Memorial Galleries during the spring school holidays to create your own poppy suncatcher.

Let's get crafty! Suitable for all ages, this free family-friendly craft activity is available between 10 am – 4pm daily from 20 September to 4 October (closed Saturdays). Bookings are not required, simply visit the craft table in our Post World War II Gallery.

Facilitated by our knowledgeable team, this activity will explore the special connection between poppies and Australia’s military past. A resilient flower, the red poppy was amongst the first to return to bloom in the fields of France and Belgium after World War I, emerging as a symbol of remembrance for the Allied soldiers who fell in battle.

Once you've created your poppy suncatcher, stay to explore the Memorial Galleries, embarking on an interactive journey from World War I to today, before taking time to reflect on the remarkable stories of bravery and sacrifice in the tranquil parklands.
